Problem with submersible pump

Hi,

am having problems with a Boyu SE-601E Submersible filter.

when i place the filter in vertical position the motor doesnt really work but when its place in a horizontal position the motors works The pump is abt 1 1/2 months old...

am using the pump in a beta tank (setting a low tech moss planted tank)...

wonderin if anyone have face the same problems before...(used to have the same motor problem with a HOF)...probably its the user..haha.

how high is your water level? how many percent of the tank filled?
