growing blyxa japonica short

Any advise on what conditions to provide for blyxa japonica for them to stay short or is there any tricks for that? thanks

Blyxa is suppose to be a stem plant. But amano use it for foreground and control its height by providing intense light. Ya. The true - is to provide light with great intensity. it will creep or stay compact.
