It's been since about 2 weeks that I have added Biohome plus to my HOF.

    Today's readings:
    NH3: 0
    NO2: 0
    NO3: 0

    NH3 sometimes fluctuate between 0 and 0.25
    NO2 also fluctuates between 0 and 0.1

But NO3 has been consistent 0 since the change in the HOF.

The tank is about a month old with Nitrate rising to 20 ppm and dipping to 0 eventually after the I added biohome plus and improved the filter wool.

It is moderately planted with java fern , hairgrass, fissiden.

Should I be concern that my nitrate level is 0? Shouldn't it be rising or are my plants consuming all of them up when they are established?

    Thanks.

Not too sure whether is the cause of the brown algae (Diatoms)? It seems to be not related but a a new tank syndrome because of excess silica, most likely from the silicon.
