    Hi,

Anybody keep Golden Pencil fish with shrimps (CRS).

No experience with Pencil fish before but since their mouth is so small, could it be a shrimps friendy fish?

    Just curious.

Pencils can be quite inquisitive. They will usually leave adult shrimps alone but the smaller ones may be harassed. If you are keeping shrimps with intention to multiply, leave the pencils out.

Yes! Pencilfish are great community fishes. Especially the brown pencils. Very cute. They are peaceful fishes and will definitely leave your shrimps alone.
    Cheers!

they feed on worms, crustaceans and insects.
they will harm your shrimplets and in a group, the adult shrimp may get harassed to death too.

In my opinion, only Otos and baby cory cats are shrimp friendly.
Other fishes will usually nip at shrimps a bit.

I think all fishes will nip, just feed your fishes well and they will leave your shrimps alone..

Yup. Cories are facinating fishes. Especially Panda Cories. Oh yes CRS are expensive... but I don't think anyone would use CRS as food. :P

Not intentionally at least, but putting any fish with a mouth big enough to ingest a CRS into your shrimp tank is essentially using CRS as food
