Do you have Yamato shrimp ? They are known to graze on grass. It is possible that tetra will eat soft young plant
been trying to figure out what fishes in my tank have been razing off my foreground plant. just added some leafy tennulus and the next day all the leaves are gone. initially i suspected it was RLT, SAE and cherry barbs, but i had sold them away and the problem is still there.
currently i have rummy nose, emperor tetras, penguin tetras, golden algae eater and lots of malayan..

hmm yup i do have yamatos, but i believe i have more than enough algaes for them to be busy with. i planted a stalk of Staurogyne and the leaves were graze too! tetras? is it possible? i only know my rummy nose are forever hungry!
What kind of soil you using? Some of the new plants tense to float off easily so you must pull them down with weight.
im using ada amazonia 2.. i did try holding them down with weight and its leaves gets nibbed off//
I'm sure it's the Malayans that are nibbling off the leaves but I believe it's not their main diet but more of a case that in their process of foraging for food, they damaged your E.tennellus as a result. My personal experience
thanks for all the feedbacks.. think ill try to look out which one of them is the main culprit!!
madnugget, what plants are in the tank, what plants got snacked ? E. tennellus are quite strong plant to be snipped.

the only plants that got snacked are my foreground plants, hairgrass, tennellus and Staurogyne. i do have mosses and stem plants but i dont see them as their snack
