I was in that area for dinner just now but it was already closed by the time I got there. I might have bought something ha.

Went to Wu Hu (Tiong Bahru Ben's) today and saw some interesting fish. Thought to give others a heads up in case you're going down there this weekend
Crenicichla (regani?) (two pairs of a dwarf pike cichlid)
Tateurndina ocellicauda (peacock gudgeon)
Stiphodon sp.
Parosphromenus sp.
Cyprichromis sp. and albino variants
Loads of interesting cories....![]()

Ben told me they were bred and not wild though, so some farm/hobbyist must have been breeding them. However, whoever sold them to him got the id wrong (abit hard to believe for a hobbyist breeder), he initially ided them to me as C. comprecicceps instead of C. regani.

Any idea what parosphromenus species it is?
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way
Not sure if there are any left, I didn't see any when I went down to get my dwarf pikes. But I could have been too focused on my pikes and didn't look carefully

ok thanks illumnae

Hope you can spawn the regani Illumnae
I'd have got a pair if I wasn't saving up for other things...
Thanks for the heads up =) I wouldn't have gone down otherwise.
I'm not sure if I want to breed them or just keep them for display purposes.

The Parosphromenus were still around somewhere in the middle cluster of the tanks along the wall when I was there on Sunday. Looks like Parosphromenus sumatranus but I'm no expert. Quite a handful of them.
I only cleared the tank of Tuberoschistura arakanensis and some Stiphodon sp.
I did not see any Tateurndina ocellicauda though.

I go down to Wu Hu regularly. Ben is a nice guy, so sometimes I hope he would get more business. He has nice setups, but then again sometimes maybe needs a bit of luck. Like C328. Business so good, if only Ben could get more![]()
is the stiphodon sp. loosely translated to be 'snake fish'?
i was there over the weekend hoping that its neon gobies but i couldn't find any

You're most welcome! Thanks for the heads up =) I wouldn't have gone down otherwise.

Hmm... didn't see the Tuberoschistura that day. Those are a good catch too! The Tateurndina ocellicauda were in individual plastic bottles on the floor actually, if that's what they really were. I might have got the ID wrong, cos they were in some blackwater and hard to see.I only cleared the tank of Tuberoschistura arakanensis and some Stiphodon sp.

Haha, Ben puts alot of the fish names in Chinese. The tank just had "goby" written on it. The Stiphodon I got were not the bright neon blue ones. They were fairly dull coloured: a bit of orange on the cheeks and red on the caudal fin. I have no idea how to ID them. I'll post a pic up when I get a good one.is the stiphodon sp. loosely translated to be 'snake fish'?

Ben do have some nice collections once in a while and it is always worth dropping by to take a peek.
Maybe the Tuberoschistura were only in on Sunday?![]()
The Stiphodon are not the usual neon gobies. In fact, I think the attractiveness lies in the finnages when they have settled down and begin to flare at each other.

All Stiphodon have been cleared out by me.
There are some nice Botia histronica if anyone is interested.

its much easier to just go to avant's tank and sapu!![]()
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Any idea what species the Stiphodon are, avant? I haven't managed to take any photos of mine yet.

There is nothing worth catching in my tank
Enda, not sure too. Yet to get a positive ID on them.
If its anything close to this
I'll be kicking myself hard for going down on monday when they are closed!!!
