user review for shibura xb303 cannister filter?

desperately trying to find out more abt this particular filter (am wondering if i should pick this up before i fly next week. will be used for a 30l tank)
.....so if there are any users out there with this pls pls pls drop me a line.

questions:
1. are the inlet & spray tubes in segments (length adjustable)?
2. can the filter media be replaced with generic media?
3. how often do i need to maintain this filter? is it easy to remove and clean?
4. are the hang on parts stable?
5. is it noisy? loud hum? has rubber stoppers/legs?
6. how's the built of this filter? is it sturdy? does it leak?
7. is it an effective filter? does the flowrate decrease after a while?
8. will it raise the water temperature?

i know i cant really compare this with eheim 2211. but would you guys say the xb303 is value for money?

one more thing to ask is whether the canister must be the same level as the tank....

I've seen pictures of it placed next to the tank (same level) and hung on the side of tank. dun beleive the motor is powerful enough for placing below the tank.
