Very nice setup! Is that a red shrimp I spotted at the middle?

    Yes it is!
I have a load of cherry shrimps in the tank breeding.

This layout has been going for less than 2 weeks now, hopefully the shrimp haven't minded the move around and continue breeding.

It's a good thing that your setup has many hiding spots for your shrimplets. if not they might just !

    Wow very nice layout!

Where are you from by the way?

I can't wait to see those crypts growing into more dense and compact form.

Thank you. I'm from London, England.
Yes once the crypts have settled back in and started growing new leaves, they should look great.
Cryptocoryne Parva at the front is such a slow grower

Here is a pic of my two favourite tetras. 10 Green neons and 4 columbians, always seem to shoal together. Hopefully they still do when the columbian tetras start to grow a lot bigger.

Your foreground looks natural, not uniform, which enhance your plants. Really look like a biotope. Very nice.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.

    Re: New 80cm Tetra Haven

Well its been a while since an update... basically there's not been much going on. Slow growth an all.
Couple of new plants thrown in.
Little bit of melt on the crypts i took from my nano.

Some of the hygo coming along. You can see some blyxa japonica just behind that i planted. Not doing too well now, so I'm going to change it for more dependable crypts.

    Full tank shot from saturday..

Cleared the foreground more. Felt there was too many stones and it took away any perception of depth.
Wanting to get rid of near all the microsorum and replace with a few more bolbitis and mosses.
Also, changed the vallis nana for eleocharis vivpara.

    Thanks.

I like this layout very much - so much so that I rescaped my 3 feet tank to something like yours very recently. I've transferred most of my crypts from my smaller tank and many leaves are melting away. Still pondering what fish to put in though your columbian tetras look beautiful in your tank layout.

Well I'm glad I've inspired someone! You're spot on with those Columbians, I absolutely love them. Whenever i look at them i want to set up my 4ft tank again and get a great shoal of them. Very underrated fish because they can sometimes look a little pale in the shops.
Good luck with your tank. And get some pictures up!

This looks great ! very natural feeling! Does the internal water fan helps to cool down the temp and help plant survive better?
