    Hi,

Anyone knows where to get this now?

Went to Far East Flora and Goodwood at Thomson and it is nowhere to be found...

Or is there any alternative to this that is safe to use besides the Cold storage cocopeat?

    Thanks!

    Larry

If you want to try alternatives, you need to check that the product is fungicide, insecticide and whatever-cide free. If these leech into the water, your livestock will in trouble.

Some of these nurseries also do ponds, so ask them what soil they use for pond plants... as they also have to make sure whatever they use will not kill the customer's precious fishes.

It's a type of soil. You can find it at NTUC. I'm guessing it's peat made from coconut husks. Juggler used it in his tanks.

Re: Sinclair J Arthur Bower's Aquatic Compost

Thank you all for the replies, especially Vinz!

It must have been out of stock for some time already, as the guys at Far East just looked at me quite blankly when I asked for it. Eventually they referred me to the supervisor, who told me that are OOS.

Have not found the time to go through the Thompson nurseries for this, just the 2 main ones.

I would like to try something that will 100% not screw up my tank, which is why I'm looking for the aquatic compost.

They actually referred me to the self packed burnt earth, and said that it would be ok for pond... It should be, but it looks to me that it will leave a lot of silt...

Hi exotic idiot! If you search aquatic compost in the forum, you will be able to find some discussion on cocopeat... That's where I found out about this.

Still looking for this or other trusted pond based soil.... and hoping someone can report good news here...

    Thanks!

I first found it at Far East Flora yeas ago. But last year and early this year, I can only find it at Goodwood... which actually belongs to Far East as well.

If your tank is not too big. Take a look at Dennerle's DeponitMix. Might be pricey.

Mine is a 4 footer... heh heh... Pricey is not what I like!

Far East used to have pond fertilizer tabs as well. Real cheap compared to aquarium stuff!
