    Re: PaperCut's 1.5FT

1st layer of ADA soil with sloping gradient to the top right, spread a layer of Mosura old sea mud powder for shrimp keeping minerals.

Top up another layer of ADA soil with more sloping gradient to the right.

Initial scape with 2 x ADA wood and some normal driftwood. Topping up water slowly.

Cloudy water after the top up.

hi there! you have a pretty nice scape.
I'm interested to know where did you get the Iceprobe TEM chiller from and how do we use it?

    Hi bro,

I got the iceprobe from Reef Depot. The iceprobe can be mounted by drilling a hole through the tank and inserting the cooling probe through or just mount on the corner of your tank but you need to diy abit to secure the iceprobe so it does not drop into your tank.

Recommended for use for probably 30litre tank? My tank is around 40 litre and can cool min to 26 on a cool day, hot day around 27. Last time use it on my iq3 of 6 litre can cool min till 19 degree. I guess more cooling power for lesser volume.

    Pmed you the price.

    Re: PaperCut's 1.5FT

Added 2 pcs of ADA wood behind for new scape idea. Took out 90% of my Blyxia Japonica, they were melting like crazy . The rest of the plants are doing ok.

Probably want to plant some Jap hairgrass infront of the ADA wood.

Added Fauna, 2 x Oto, 2 x yamato for the time being.

Upgraded to pressurised CO2 as well.

    Re: PaperCut's 1.5FT

Latest edition Eheim Pro 2222 canister to replace Eden 501.

Got some Blyxia Japonica for background and try again. Hopefully no melting this time round. Glosso seems to be creeping nicely.

    Side View of tank.

My humble retreat corner for viewing my tank. Think the TV console still can accomdate a 4 footer tank but need to go through "CEO wife" of the house.

    Re: PaperCut's 1.5FT

Love your scape! Wanted to make one of this but have no idea on how and where to start with. I have both 3ft and 2ft tank but i want to design the 3ft one. Can you roughly introduce what to buy and what should i get the equipment from?

PS. I saw other bro's post and most of the equipment they recommended, i have no idea what is it used for and no idea how to setup.

    Thanks,
    MingXiang

    Re: PaperCut's 1.5FT

what do you have besides the tank? for normal fish tank you need at least a filter. for planted tank you are going to need good light, CO2 injection, substrate.

    Re: PaperCut's 1.5FT

my rough idea was to add soil > add moss and wood > add water> add shrimp and neon tetras. as for filter/ co2 and light, i don't have a clue of the requirement. i only have a budget of roughly 200+ for everything. so i wish to keep it as simple as possible.. if not i rather not do it cause i don't want to ruin the shrimp and plant

Well, if you want to have a densely planted tank,i would suggest planting them before filling up with water. The plants will help to absorb excess nutrient from the new soil provided lighting and co2 is also set up. You can look around the marketplace for 2nd hand equipment if you dont mind, to meet your budget requirement.

    Re: PaperCut's 1.5FT

Thanks bro. Erm do you mind telling me the price of the following items and where to get them?

    • Eden 501 mini canister filter
    • Iceprobe TEM chiller - keeping temp between 26 - 27 degree
    • Aqua Zonic 2 x 16w T5
    • ADA Amazonia 2 powder
    • Mosura Old Sea mud powder
    • Dymax 200l/hr mini pump for added flow around tank

I might reset my budget if the price is not too high for me.

    Thanks,
    Mx

I got the angel also because of that patch above the eye. Look cute. Hehehe.
