Hi, I would like to ask if the mosses and fissidens that can be found on the forest floor of gardens and parks in Singapore, will they be able to survive submerged in water? I'd like to try but don't want to foul up my tank if they definitely cannot survive.

hi bro, you can try, but it will take you at least 6months for them to adapt to your tank.

im referring to sg fissidens, which im cultivating for about 8months now. growth rate is very slow.

Hmmm, maybe not worth the effort then. For a beginner like me, may prove to be too tough and frustrating. Did you try them under high tech or low tech setups? Did you start them off using the Dry Start Method or straightaway subjected them to full submersion?

hi bro, mine is full high tech setup..
and also i dont follow any specific method, just monitor them and how the moss changes. Sometimes i just float them, and sometimes ill just submerged them.

Currently I have 2 types that I found at the nearby grass patches, just dig from ground. Then wash as much mud as possible then just threw them in. It is now 2 weeks and I think they are still ok. It is a very very low tech setup with low light - just natural sunlight from the window.
