off topic, the external sensor is originated from the gex chiller?
for the replacement, i doubt the water temp will varies significantly within the tank. how is your tank?

as per topic, where to place the external sensor. I just bought a GEX chiller that comes with a external sensor.
(A) near to the chiller inlet (in the tank)
(B) near to the chiller outlet (in the tank)
(C) furthest from chiller inlet (in the tank)
(D) furthest from chiller outlet (in the tank)
Which placement would give the longest kick in period?
appreciate advice

yes the GEX chiller comes with external sensor. the tank so far is good. the chiller kick in about 10 mins or so every 1 hour+ i think. Setup on saturday, but was busy to actively monitor the actual kick in yet
i try to set at 23 degree C, but the condensation is unbearable, so now i set at 24 degree. will kick in at 25. only issue is that the chiller only shows temperature up to the nearest degree, ie 23, 24, 25.... it does not show 23.1
but i think if you put the sensor at the outlet, then it will measure the water temperature of water after the chiller, if you put further away, it should measure the over all temperature??
was very busy that i do not have time to do any scaping. just throw in my original 2 coconut shell with java moss.
place it near the filter inlet of your tank

hi Cross,
may i know what is the reason? not doubting your suggestion, but to lean more.
because the inlet is where the water is going in to the canister and to the chiller. taking temperature from there will be the most accurate.
