Some bros may know i have problem finding tankmates for my fierce arowana.. today bought 5 cheap angels from polyart to try.. i believe they are adults..

usually what tankmates i add, straight away whack.. esp tiger.. put in only, aro chase like no tomorrow.. but to my surprise.. those angels were fine! except 1..
1 very shiny angel(luckily i didn't get platinum) was slightly chased.. the other 4 was not touched even they were swimming at the top area..

from this pic, you can see the aro trying to chase that angel.

the one with only 2 black dots and no orange head is the shiny one.. might sell it away and get another less shiny one..

    Re: Dragon and Angels.

I have seen someone else keep altums with arowana in a planted tank. The altums are all adults, but they will crowd to the opposite side of the tank from where the arowana is. To me, they looked pretty stressed out.

At night, when the tank and room lights are off, when any of the altums reflect light from outside the window, the arowana will sometimes attack the fish, thinking it's a smaller fish.

On that note, I have to admit I used to have a 6 foot fully planted tank with arowana and I did keep other small fish with it, like SAE and Tiger Barbs. They didn't seem to be stressed by the arowana as they have lots of plants to hide in and can move about the tank safely near or in cover.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Bro, in my limited experience, many LFS angelfish carry internal parasites which will show when you stress them out.
You might want to err on the side of caution to be on the lookout of they start showing signs.

    Re: Dragon and Angels.

thanks vinz for your advice, the reason why i chose angels was because i seen many bros kept them together and they seems just fine.. some even begging for food.. some arowana attack fish and some don't.. and some even chooses fish to attack.. like my arowana, he dosn't attack my eartheaters and stingrays but chase what ever tiger(datnoids) i add inside be it small or big.. i guess comming fishes with aro is just all about trial and error..

right now mine looks more relaxed and less stressed.. they are starting to explore the tank.
heres quite a few photos to share :

    Bro
How big is your tank? you have 2 rays, 4 angels, 1 Aro & a german ram in the tank, it looks at most a 3 feet. Am I right?

Is this sufficient for your Aro when it grow? and is the 3 feet sufficient for rays?

woah.. im surprised how you look at this tank being at most 3ft.. its a 422 by the way.. 4ft(L) x 2ft(w) x 2ft (h).

i have 5 angels, 2 rays and 1 HBRTG.. german rams? those were actually Eartheaters.. but had sold them away.

a 422 tank is sufficient to hold a RTG till adulthood.. though not highly recommanded.. for rays, a width of minimum 2.5ft is required.. so frankly said, my tank is kinda small for them.. but well, they are still juvs and growth rate is slow.. i have till end of year before i need to upgrade my tank.

Amazing 'combination'! Angels always gave me an impression that they're 'fragile', maybe because of the long finnage. But I do know they can get pretty aggressive as well. But when you put them side by side with the arowana, it's like putting a poodle next to a Doberman

Really daring and interesting of you to comm the arowana with angels. Very nice pictures as well. Keep them coming!!
