Hello all,

I will soon be moving to the Philippines for work and starting a freshwater aquarium, and I was wondering if anyone might be able to answer a few questions. I've spent a few days researching this and other forums, but so far haven't been able to find the answers.

1) Considering how hot it gets there (and I don't have aircon), will I need a chiller? I don't plan on growing plants (some moss might be nice, but not a priority). Since fish are sold in shops with aircon, I'm assuming they won't be used to the heat? I'm planning on using a fan and some iced bottles if necessary, but I can't imagine replacing those bottles every few hours day after day. And considering the cost of electricity (not to mention the chiller itself), I'd like to avoid buying one if possible.

2) Is Tetra SafeStart available in the Philippines?

3) I will be living in the city of Mabalacat. Anyone know if there are any good fish stores in the area?

4) If by any chance there are any members close by, do you know what kind of nitrate/ph levels the local tap water has?

I know its kind of a long shot trying to find a member who can answer these questions, but it's worth a try!
