    Rule of thumb - the big ones are usually the male. The male look more majestic compared to a female specimen

    The dorsal fin near the back will come down at an angle. Visualise the tip of the fin coming all the way down. If it cuts through the tail, it is believed to be a girl. If it goes behind the tail, it is believed to be a boy.

    Not 100% proven but a lot of breeders are using this method to successfully pairing them up.

    There are certain strains that are very easy to identify but not with 100% accuracy. But after keeping discus for sometime, you will be able to identify them just by looking at their features.

    Yes, agree on that the bigger one is usually the male but in some case the female could be bigger.
