The smallest Eheim external is 2231, 100litres/hr if I'm not wrong. A 1.5 ft tank is about 30-40 litres? Just nice.

If it's too strong, partially close the tap on the filter output until you get the desired flow rate. NEVER close the filter input tap to control the flow.

If you are on budget constraint, internal filter should be sufficient for your 1.5ft tank.

What is your reason for changing to a canister filter?

Hi bro thanantosis, i was thinking along the same line as you do. Was looking at Jebao912 or a Dolphin C700 eaternal canister. Eheim ecco looks good but too ex

hi bclee..... the reason of me changing is because the internal filter is too a mess in mantainess.....

and a canister filter will be better in terms of mantainess and performess...

    hi bro carl....

i think Jebao912 is too strong....the flow rate 1000/Hr ....Dolphin C700 too strong too....

i think the best is 2231 and 2211..... but i dont think 2211 got sell in sg.....

only have 2213... cost around 80 to 85

You can prevent this by putting bio sponge outside the pipe inlet(as a pre-filter).

For canister, go for E2213, you can get it for S$85 plus at Petmart or TPY69 without valves....or you can get a used one for me if you want.

FYI, I am using 2215 on my 50cm hexagonal tank, so far so good.

    I think flow rate for:
    1) Eheim 2211 is about 300 litres/hr
    2) Eheim 2213 is about 400 litres/hr
