How to create moss turf? anyone can teach me?

i guess you can start off with getting stainless steel mesh.
place your moss on to the mesh and spread them well.
then use a roll of fine fishing line to tie around the mesh.
put your mesh on the gravel and let them grow.
1-2 months later, the moss will grow nicely spread out.

anyway other then using wire mesh? cause i used to have 1 moss turf bought from a bro here his is not tied by wire mesh.

err, then what did he tie to then? plastic mesh may be too light.

i remembered i bought it from barmby but i cant find it picture. not sure what the base is made of but should be some dried grass or other plants then with moss growing on it.

reminds me of the singapore moss i took near hort park. they looked like that after i cut them from the ground.
Their now no longer in my tank but in my chili padi pot.

yup you can, i just used a pen knife to cut. do note its emersed growth and will appear differently when its fully submersed.

ok so once i cut it i can just put it fully submersed? or need to grow it emersed then slowly to fully submersed?

Do we remove the wire mesh when they are grow quite thick? Wouldn't the wire mesh rust been in the water for months?
Or is there any other way of growing them?

Matt,

The mesh is made of Stainless steel (or at these are the types that should be used) so they will not rust.
They are typically left 'as is' even if the Mosses over grow them, which is a typical problem in maintenance.

Mosses need to be secured/anchored, so if you do not want to use wire meshes, anything that will help them 'take root' (they actually dont have roots though) will be required. Rocks, drift/bog wood, and plastic/wire meshes are the typical anchors.

You can use plastic mesh if stainless steel is not available. You can place plant weight under the mesh to prevent from floating.
