Your moss Browning can be solved by a few methods

    1) How close is your light to your water? Because this will affect a) Temperature of water, b) intensity/spread of light and c) temperature of water.
    2) Shade your mosses TEMPORARILY with some easy to get rid of floating plants like slavinia or soemthing.. just temporary only.. then when plants below more mature..can get rid of those floaters.

    Ultimately, you're trying 2 achieve 2 things :

    1)Temperature of water
    2) Intensity of light

both of which are mutually co-related.

alternatively, you can also achieve both by adding a chiller..
If you're looking at loosing about $300 by selling the Light and then spending more money to get another light...
then why not jsut get a chiller? cheap new china ones only set you back about $150-300. 2nd hand european brand ones only $300-400 for such a size tank.

Hahaha, everybody seems to be asking me abour the bars.

Got them from East Ocean Aquatic Trading, its a LFS at BLK 22 Havelock Road. Tel: 62759220.

Barmby - No chiller running now, cause i sleep with aircon everynight, so i cools down the tank quite a bit till the morning. then temp slowly goes up during the day untill i get back from work and on the aircon again.

Lights are about 1 foot away from the tank. at the mean time.

Yeah Bro - was just doing some calculations, think might really consider getting a chiller.

Thank you for your confirmation. it is the temperature that browns your moss

Might be possible to just turn on your air conditioning in the room throughout the day? Might be cheaper than a chiller that dumps out hot air into the room at night.

    Re: Corleone's ADA-60P Jounal

it is highly unlikely that the chiller will dump out hot air into his room at night because he switches on his airconditioning at night. At the most it will do it once then the rest of the night it wont anymore because he switches on his air conditioning at night. that would keep the water cold enough so the chiller doesn't activate.

Lose the light for a price of -$300 versus Lose +$300 for gaining the chiller

    Re: Corleone's ADA-60P Jounal

Just got back from Hongkong with lots of goodies for my next setup.
A quick update on the progress of the 60P. Still loving the clean foreground and the way everything is progressing, somehow it gives me wabi-kusa feel.

Was considering adding some red plants to give the scape more contrast but haven't decided on which plant. Any recommendations?

too round island, you need some natural form, some edge rocks would be nice.
