    Re: Tanganyika shellies.

I remember it's used to be very popular years ago when i was keeping tropheus & frontosa. But understand from lfs due to low & dying demand, they no longer bring them in.
Bro, maybe you can spur up the interest again. When there's demand, there's supply

jssl, yea.. i do hope more people will join shellies keeping.

after reading tons and tons of info, i set up my 1st shellies tank today.. i know shellies were very popular a year back.. and it seems like the trend is dying down.. hopefully more people will join the shellies community..

    before :
this set up was a 1ft cube BOYU all-in-one tank..
    used to keep apisto :

after selling away those fishes, bought back a pack of Coral sand and some oyster shell.

after doing some simple scaping with oyster shell.. i used back 50% of old water + 50% of new water.. old media as well.

tank is cloudy now.. taken minutes ago.. i wonder if i used too much oyster shell anot? intend to maintain pH at 7.8 - 8.

    advise greatly welcomed. thanks.

    Re: Tanganyika shellies.

    hi guys, i have recently set up a mutlies 6g tank. housing 3 adults 1 m 2 F.

ignore the floating box, it houses the yellow rabbit snail who messed up my entire scape.

    the adult male multies.

    female.

    another female

they have becomed very daring, hand put inside also wont hide into shell.. but after rescaping, they became slightly more skittish.. i guess few more days they will be back to normal..

Nice setup! I nearly got into shellies myself too once... Hope they breed for you! I think they're terribly cute.
