Hi there, I have already a 3ft freshwater setup that I have only DW and decorative plastic plants, gravel sand currently with discus fishes. I am thinking of introducing live plants to my tank. I would like some advice on what are the things needed for me to keep whatever plants that I would introduce so that it would last longer. Also any advice on which plant are hardy. The thing is I want to make my tank look nicer but without too much time spending on maintaining it

Look for those low light, low requirement and slow growing plants e.g. java fern, moss...
Maybe you can start browsing this webby http://www.tropica.com/plants/difficulty/easy.aspx which I find it not bad.

Thanks for the info guys. another question if you dont mind, I heard about introducing soil and fertilizer for the plants. Since I already have sand gravel in place, whats the best solution to introduce either soil or fertilizer for the plant?
