anyone who read this has any suggestions yet?
As the title states, does anyone here think it is possible to convert the water dispenser used in some offices into a chiller? The kind where there is a dispenser for hot and cold water and refilled using a huge bottle of water.
My idea is after the dispenser cool the water, use heater to heat the water to the desired tempreature assuming the water is too cold. If not leave it. Personally i think the dispenser does not take up too much space after removing the cover which is mainly to make the dispenser tall enough for use to get water from it easily.
If the idea is possible, could anyone care to provide me with the price of such a dispenser. Or if the idea is not good , provide me with the reason. ( too expensive etc )

I guess get a second hand chiller is more worry and diy free.

just a itchy handed person trying to DIY something
However, if the total price of making such a chiller is more than 1.5 times the cost of a first hand chiller i will just scrape the idea.
if this method can work, i would like to try too![]()
Sounds like a decent plan, no reason it shouldn't work. Unfortunately the only water dispenser i have to suggest wouldn't be suitable.
Good luck though and hope it works out for you.
Trust me. Im a diy person as well. What if you are not around and someone hand itchy and accidentally "heated" the water? You can't control the temperature.
