Eheim auto feeder. They have several different model. Choose one that would fit your budget.
Hi Bros,
Just wondering if anyone here uses or can recommend an automated feeder for a fish tank? I've recently taken up a job that requires that I travel up to 2 weeks at a time and so I'm looking for an auto-feeder to make sure my shrimps, fish don't starve while I'm gone.
Any suggestions?

LAND OF THE FREE.
I recommend Rena LG100. You can read my review of it here. I own 2 units.
Depends on your usage.
If you foresee yourself travelling frequently, and plan to use the feeder even when you're not travelling, then it would be a worth while investment.
However, if you plan to disable the auto feeder whenever you're at home (not travelling) then perhaps a battery-operated one is more economical.

Thanks for the suggestions Bossteck and Herns.
Will check out these models and hopefully find one that can manage multiple food types.
Thanks for your time.
You want the feeder to be able to stock and dispense more than 1 type of food?
The only feeder which I know that is able to do that would be Eheim 3582 Twin, might want to check it out.

Thanks Bossteck.
I have both tetra's and shrimp to feed in my tank. Rather than mix the food type and hope for a good serving every rotation of the feeder, I'd rather try and find one that can accurately serve 2 food types.
If you are not brand consious and want a budget friendly auto fish feeder, you can get Yinsheng brand battery operated fish feeder which comes with 6 pegs for multiple feeds with variable feeding dose at the price of $16 available at Natural Aquarium. The capacity should be enough for two weeks at average of 3-4 feeds per day at the smallest feed dose. You can buy 2 feeders for different fish breeds
Hi Another brand to recommened;
Warmtone WT-180A Food timer, I paid $16 for it....reliable.
Battery Powered
Can feed flake or small pellets
Feed up to 6 times
Can manually override for feeding anytime
Multi mounting position

Eheim autofeeder is good. Reliable.
I have one question regarding these auto feeders.
As the food compartment in these feeders are not air tight or sealed, the fish food may oxidized, soften and go bad.
Can we use these feeders for long term instead of just the holiday trip periods?
I am also very particular in this regard. If the feeder unit compartments are enclosed and not exposed to outside air, it should be o kay for a week or two.
On a side note, I always buy dried bloodworms with a dessicator inside.
LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
Try the Dophin automatic feeders. I got mine at $15 and they work great and much better than those "pin" feeders that might mess up and dump continuous amounts of food into your aquarium. Only con is that the precision of the food dispenser outlet is much less compared to those Drum feeders.
Does this make sense: ~Imperfect Past equals future tense~
Do the automatic feeders spread the food on the water surface? While manually feeding my tetras, I hold a pinch of very fine pellets and sink my hand inside the tank where I let go of the food a little bit at a time and the fish eat there happily. Can this be replicated with any feeder? My rummy nose tetras don't eat from the surface. What are my best holiday feeding options? I will be going on a holiday for 11 days.
Yes, on the surface unless you get those sinking bits?
