Anyone using Tropical Master Grow water fert?

Wondering how is it, or should I stick to Sera Florena or JBL. Petmart selling at $30 plus I think, wonder if it's cheaper because the bottle quite big.

I use TMG regularly, on the whole its a great fert as its pretty complete on its traces... however you might like to boost some of your macro nutrients. I don't like florena or jbl simply cuz I have no idea whats in it.

I, on the other hand, find TMG too concentrated for my tanks. I use Seachem Flourish which is lighter and also publishes its ingredients.

A search on APD will give you a list of contents for Sera Florena ... and that info gave me more than enough reason to move away from it a few months ago.

    Hi Vinz,

I am actually thinking of switching from JBL florena to TMG or Seachem Flourish.

Do you use Seachem Flourish together with other Seachem product like Excel or Iron?

If I use Seachem Flourish with Excel or Iron, do I still need to dose K2SO4 and MgSO4 at the same time. Afraid of overdose?

Not too sure. Can advice. Thanks.

err. It is JBL Ferropol and Sera Florena...

Flourish pretty much cover Fe and all the traces. It is low on K. You will probably need to dose K.

Flourish Excel is a carbon sourse to substitute or complement CO2. IMO, if you have CO2 injection, Excel is not neccessary.

I don't use Excel. You don't need excel if you have a good CO2 supply. Excel alone will not provide enough carbon for the plants to photosynthesis enough to bubble/pearl.

I use Seachem's Flourish, Iron and Equilibrium. For K I use K2SO4... seems my tank needs a lot more K then the 20ppm recommendation.

Flourish Iron and Excel do not have K2SO4 nor MgSO4. I'ld be cautious about dosing MgSO4 without Ca. In fact, if your tank does not display Mg deficiency, I won't bother dosing MgSO4.

    Hi Vinz,

Thanks. Will try Flourish and Iron + K2SO4.

    What does Equilibrium cover?

Main purpose of Equilibrium is Ca and Mg. Has lots of K and some Fe, Mn and few others I think. Not an absolute necessity.

Don't you guys dose PO4? Having a bottle of Seachem P can be handy but in the long run KH2PO4 is more economical.

I do. [] ...Organic PO4 reading shown on the test kti does put me into trouble at times..I thought I don't have to dose but it is gone in fact? 0.5ppm..does not move..dose to 1-2ppm then the bugger drop to 0.5ppm within 1-3 days depending on how long I stunt them.

You are not alone...it shows I have more than enough...my 1ppm/week dose does more good than harm.
