Looks female to me. As for locality, you got it wild or farm bred? If its farm bred, its possibly a peruvian strain which are most common. But recently, they are many farm bred Biateniata "tefe" appearing in LFS too. If its wild, seller would have the locality information. Because Bitaeniata's are highly polychromatic. Hence its very difficult to indicate their locality by looking at the color of the fish. Take for example, a yellow shishita, mamuri will throw out bluish/reddish fries that resembles the tefe variant and similarly, the tefe can throw out yellow fries that resembles the shishita and mamuri variant.
