Re: apisto. caca in a planted community tank?
Apistos are great community fishes for planted tanks. They add zest and characters to your tank. They will not harm your cardinals or other fishes. But they tend to get alittle more aggressive when they are breeding because they are protecting their brood. But thats not a major issue. They will get along fine.
Its really fun to see the pair protect the fries from the other fishes when they spawn. But with so many fries and just 2 pairs of eyes. Some fries tends to be bolder and stray away from their parents and they end up as live food for your other fishes... see the cardinals swoop down at the slightest chance to pick off the fries like kamakazi pilots!
Oh, and your tank temp is fine too.
