    Hi guys

Thought you might like to comment on my new tank. All criticisms will be will be taken without offence. This is not my first tank but it is the first time I've done more than just stick a few fish in a tank with a bit gravel and some plants. I have made everything where possiable including the cabinet it sits on and the light hood Hope it meets with your approval

    Hi Tatguy

    Thanks for you comments.

The tank is 4 x 2 x 2 and the lights are 2 x 55W and 2 x 35W Eneline fluros with the ballasts mounted inside the light hood, cooling is by 2 x 120mm mains PC fans (blowing out of the tank) and tied into the light circuit which is on a timer. Air flow is bought in from holes in front/top of the light hood causing the flow to go over both the ballasts and the lights. The filter is an Ehime 2222, and there is a small powerhead at the top of the tank to give some surface movement and to disperse the CO2 better. Substrate is JBL AquaBasis Plus 15 lts covered with 30 Kg of Dennearl crystal quarts dimond black.

I do intend to put more plants in but the tank has only been up and running for a little over two weeks now and I dont want to fill it up untill I have identified some sort of signature plant for the tank

    Best regards
    Biggles

i see good luck then. Jus my 2 cents the powerhead might make the plants unable to absorb the CO2 due to the high flow unless you adjust it. Don't know what others might think. But its your tank and what you do to it is your own preference

The powerhead is very very small one (1.8W) so there is not a great deal of flow but I will keep an eye on the CO2 absorbtion. Thanks for the tip.
