Newbie - To setup a 2ft tank

Hi,
I'm from the planted tank section. I'm thinking of setting up a 2ft tank for marine(because of the nemo craze).

My current question is the lighting. Can I get a PL light that is suitable for marine cos i'm think of using a Planted tank light fixture and us it for marine?

Is Protein skimmer standalone? Does it work like a surface skimmer where you need an additional pump?

What i suggest is that u might want to take a look at the aquatic FAQ first before embarking on the project... there is a PL light that is suitable for marine.. we called it 50/50.. it gives off daylight and actinic lights.

Yes, protein skimmer is a stand alone equipment and it does not perform the same as surface skimmer in the FW. u can have a choice of air pump or powerhead.. depending on the model u chose.
