ok i took a gamble this morning and i answered my own question...i'm posting it here so that if anyone had the same question as me would know:
i took the rainbar and used a pair of pliers to increase the size of the first hole nearest to the input (where the water first flows into the rainbar) and i made it just big enough for me to force an airline connector into the hole. I tested the new connection for leaks and it was a tight seal (no sealant/adhesives required). I put the rainbar back into the tank, and i connected my DIY Co2 airline to the connector and turned on the filter and it works!
my DIY Co2 setup produces about roughly 1bps and the bubble gets washed around in the rainbar before getting expelled out of the holes along the rainbar in a fine mist...so there, modified Eden 501 filter with Co2 input![]()
