    I am newbie to planted tank.

    Can anyone recommend me what kind of filter is needed for planted tank (Abt 2Ft to 3Ft)?

    Preferly with brands and prices..

    There are many brands in the market. You should find one fitting your specs and budget. If Eheim brands are affordable to you, then get one as they are proven to be reliable. More specs at http://www.eheim.com.
