    Hey guys.......

Is there a possibility for 100% CRS/BDS shrimp-lets survival after hatch??? Or there will always be some death even with the correct water parameter???

Does those famous expert breeder from Taiwan or Japan lost some shrimplets after hatch too???

What is the reason for the death even when the water parameter is right???

    Re: Is there a possibility???

I remembered a few months back I watched taiwanese variety show "Guess 3" that covered on the topic of a taiwanese lady breeder. She mentioned that she separate the bigger size shrimps from the pool of shrimps so as to aviod the smaller size shrimps from eaten up. So conclusion from her is that the shrimplets may be eaten up by larger shrimps. But for me I just leave it as it is in the same tank.

I think it is inevitable to experience small shrimplets death due to initial stage of molting.

Agree with what magpie said. It is also better to separate them so the shrimplets have more food and no need to "kio sai" from the larger shrimps and able to grow peacefully with the rest of the brood!

The taiwanese lady breeder did not elaborate more on the bigger shrimps eating the shrimplets. She just mentioned that extra care is needed to separate the different size shrimps so that the shrimplets won't be eaten up.

So is it recommended to actually separate the berried during their third week then keep close monitor of the hatched shrimplets? because usually we don't really want to stress up the berried mama so never separate them.

dont think its advisable to catch the shrimplets when they hatch.. they are VERY fragile. they might break a leg or 2 or u might even smash their tiny little bodies when not handled properly.

hmm those hanging inside? personally i think breeding nets are better. as the water will be exactly the same as the tank, more flow.^^

do it slowly.. lure them into the net then place in the box (not directly scoop).. test on the male shrimps first =D
