As suggested siphon is a good way...but just to add on, gentle fanning action from your fingers in the water near the moss will be a good idea...you would not want the hose too near and pull up a clump of moss.....

try david's recommendation. If your moss is tied to wood, you can simply take it out and rinse.

thanks for the help, i would try david's advise. removing the driftwood is a strict no-no, as it adds to more 'dirt' floating into the water column.
