Would like to know how long can shrimps go without being fed? Some say fish can do without food for a week, what about shrimp?

Wow, this thread is so old! I learn alot of stuff since I posted this. Shrimps can actually go without food much longer if you have a matured tank maybe a month or longer depending on your bioload and age of your tank setup. You just to have ensure that the lighting is turned on regularly and there is adequate water level. Most setups I see usually are good enough to sustain for a long time without feeding, unless your tank is swarming with shrimps.

i went for a holiday for 7 days last month. no feeding during this period and no casualty. Infact all my pregnant CRS gave birth when i came back. lots of baby. I believe if your tank is matured with plants, the shrimps will be able to find micro organism for food. Just make sure u have a timer for your plants so that they will not die. also make sure your filter is functioning.

Re: Any auto feeder for shrimps?

Thanks Guys for the info!! Thing is I went away for 3 days only to come back home finding 2 dead shrimp. Filter was fine and lights are on timer.
Plants are growing well too for them to hide among. Good news is one shrimp is pregnant, so hope to see more little buggers soon.
    Thanks!!
