I have both in my tank now... but i will cut away the excess duck weed if it grows too long... as for frogbits, i only have 5 stalks now.. so its not even growing from what i see.. haha.... the main reason of putting these floating plants i believe is just to reduce the nitrate (or nitrite) in the water.. so it doesnt harm to have both in the tank.. haha...

Duck weed spread like crazy but they are easy to remove in a tank.
Frogbits is nice floating but I hate the long roots as my tank is rather small.
I have frogbits in my crs tank.
i have actually use up one partition (1x1feet area) at the bottom of my shrimp rack to put all my frogbits / mini salvia / giant duck weed to absorb all the nitrate pass down from the top and middle tank before going into the two external canister.

Its true though, my frogbit, the roots reach down 30cm to the bottom of my tank and became rooted.

i prefer frogbit, it seems to absorb the nitrate in my tank well. I have a section of my tank allocated for them to grow.
