Hey dwarf lovers! Think there could be any possibility to trade these babes?
It'd be great if we could have some kinda network and trade those F1s or F2s.
You know, like the AKA ( American Killifish Association ) and sorts. It'll promote the awareness and hobby for this great lookin' fish. There are so many other varieties out there and yet, we can only drool at the pics of these unavailable specimens here. Ironic? Here's a better one - S'pore exports for ornamental fishes has an estimate 50% share to the rest of the world. So what we get in the shops are probably like peanuts...[]

Simon, you travel often? Not easy to transport fishes back. I source for my stocks mostly from H.K. They're quite good there. Most times, Taiwan will be a better choice. They've got more varieties there, especially in Kaoshiung and Tainan area. Japan is way too ex!! I know there're some farms in JB that specialise in dwarfs but they only take bulk orders and most dun send females. SAD...[]

This not only pertain to dwarfs.

From what i know if talking abt cichlids, the real poverished are Central Americans. eg guapotes..
dwarves are not 1/2 as bad if comparing on relative terms.

had tried to start something like what you said, but failed badly coz dont have a large enough base population to support. Moreover, space is a very big constraint for many of us here. SO, even if somehow someone has gotten a good fish, not a lot can keep it. End up ppl just look see for a while and then left.

Initially there will be a lot of activity, but dies fast. Due to the fact of not having enough ppl to support. Just a bunch of 10 or 20 ppl cannot substain the "club" long enough unless there is steady influx of dedicated ppl and not look see kind.

So, end up initially there are quite some exciting fish brought in, but later things stagnate.

But i think it will be better for dwarves coz at least the biggest concern - space is easily satisfied. Easier to keep a fish that needs 1ft by 1ft compared to one that needs 4ftx2ft

Yeah! Tell me about it man! Most plants I've got came from abroad. Best thing is Oriental plant farm's so big locally... H2O does bring in some variety of dwarfs but the conditions of these stocks doesn't seem too good. [] Sam Yick used to have some too but my god, their prices are way too high!! Nowadays, just depend on lady luck. I see them and if they're worth it, I buy 'em.
Since Gan has such good connections, I wonder if he brings them dwarf dudes in. Pairs that is. Where'd you get your A. rotkeil from? If you ever come across a pair of A. mendezii, grab 'em man! [] Cheers!
