Large aquarium keeper

I keep fish and plant in a 5ft tank,
I found that plant and fish are easy to grow but not easy to keep them well
can anyone share the experiences with me?

I used to collect large fishes like gars, bichirs, catfishes and have tough plants in the 4ft tank together with the large fishes...
