Anyone used this before? Uncle @ Bioplast recommend it when I asked for monster root.

$10 for 48 panadol sized tablet fert.

Did not state what type of chemical and how much of it.

Looks like another Dennerle look-alike. You just dose according to what they said and don't forget to buy me again once you're finished.

It's really up to you. I used Dennerle before and found them too regimental. E15 on the 15th day and V30 on the 30th day... I learnt nothing in the end. If you are just going for a magic potion that promises you a beautiful tank, fine. However, if you are in it to learn something, dare to make mistakes and learn from it then it's entirely a different story. You just got to try this and that.

I guess that is all that I can offer.

I told the uncle @ Bioplast that I needed something like monster root and he recommended me this one. Told me to insert one fert into the gravel near every plant.

First, what is it that you want monster roots? Do you not have base or is your base depleted? We add things only when we need to. Some of us insert tabs into the substrate to make up for what is depleted over the years or when we want to add certain element like PO4 for certain plants that depend on their root structure for uptake like Echinodorus or Crypts. Or when they feel that feeding through the roots is better than feeding through the water column... etc. I do it to find out what happens. These factors influence your choice of products you want to use.

Don't add in things just because everyone is doing it. They have their reasons, ask what is your? Is it because you do not have base and want to do it now? If yes, then okay. If it is to act as a base, some prefer tab to have most of their PO4 while other prefer they have TE and there are some that want the tab to have everything so that they don't have to fertilise through the water column.

I'm adding it b'cos I did not add enough substrate fert when I was setting up my tank. I left more fert in the front and very little/almost no fert at the back and now, the plants in front are growing well(HG and glosso) but those background plants are growing very very slowly.

Growth are often accelerate when macros, particularly P is present and most ferts do not have P in them. No use inserting one that contains only TE.

Eggz, background plants only? Could it be your light's blind spot? Water column fertilising don't work also? What sort of plants at the back?

Have E.Rose, E.Ozelot and Indian fern at the back. Cannot be the blindspot as I have 2 sets of 36W*2 for my 3ft, one in front and one at the back. The plants are directly below the lights.

Currently dosing TE weekly, a little PO4 and P after weekly water changes.
