Bro
Do you have any drift/bog wood in your tank?
goody992828
nope not running carbon
no wood, just ss mesh with us fissidens
did some research, the problem might be cause by the hardness of the tap water
anyone got similar issue?
thanks for the prompt replies
When you do water change, make sure you pour water slowly.
ADA II can caused the water to become cloudy if you pour the water too fast.
Do you have a filter?
It should sort that problem within a couple of days.
Do please check your water parameter again as it might changed due to the cloudy water.
i am using OHF
this is how i water change
add the water to the brim via the OHF
then remove the water after half hour to the default level
water parameter
ammonia, nitrite 0
nitrate 5 ph 6.7 temp 25
may be you try asking the shop where you purchase the soil from.
and may be this will help you, visit:

view and click on the section that says
[IMPORTANT] AQUA SOIL AMAZONIA II
hope this will help you
purchased from y618
my tap water ph is 7.4, tank ph is 6.8
i hope this got nothing to do with the soil
i guess its just my luck
thanks for the info
No such issues for me...and I'm using the same soil. Is your water flow somehow stirring up the soil?
Cloudy is possible if the water is stirred or you crush many of the ADA soil pellets during scaping, but don't understand why its yellowish
What filter media are you using? Whats the KH and GH?
Could it be brown diatom bloom covering your glass instead?
Don't mind me, I'm just throwing up all the possibilities.
Hi bro, based on my experience with ada soil, ada 2 is less likely to cloud the water or make it yellowish.. As compared to ada 1, it would most likely happen due to the high nutrient levels.. If you're experiencing this problem now, water changes overtime would surely make the water clear again.. This is just how I solve my problems
Just to add, different batches of ada soils clouds the water differently.. Some batches of ada, the water will just clear up simply after water changes but some will just stay yellowish during it's whole life span.
based on the movement of the crushed mosura excel pellet
it is unlikely to be caused by flow rate and stirring of soil
place 5 pieces of ss mesh tied with us fissdens on the soil
did not crush, stir or scape the soil
using 3kg of biohome as media, no mika wool etc
as for kh and gh, it in between 2nd to 3rd reading using api 5 in 1 test strip
will give actual reading on monday
i scrap the glass with metal glass cleaner, furthermore its yellowish if i view from top
as long as it doesnt harm my plants and shrimp
i will live with it instead of water changing
i got a strong gut feeling that my company water has some problem
my previous setup with red gex soil, ph stuck around 7.3-7.5
i change to ada amaII, my ph stuck around 6.7-7.0
right now, i top up using distilled water
hopefully the ph will not go up further
i might run carbon or use blue light to counter the yellowish water
thanks for all your help
