How to move a 6x2x2 ft fish tank around the house with sand in it.

I am renovating the house and need to move my tank (with sand and cabinet) to another position in the living room.

Anyone has experience doing this without tearing down the whole tank and removing the sand?

Impossibly hard. At best you have to reduce your water level to the very minimum. Personally I find it too risky and too difficult. I moved an empty 7 foot tank with 1cm thick glass with disastrous results.

It is necessary to empty the tank if you move it. The silicon is to hold water and not meant to support the tank when it is lift off. The pressure counteract is different. Likewise for sand. can you imagine 6x2x2 with 4 inch depth of sand.. wow. quite heavy
