    hi guys, currently my setup is ada soil that has been with me for 2 year. recently my ph rise to 8 while i was oversea. now im left with one golden crystal, one sss grade and small red fry. my tank is filled with thick mini fissiden and mini pellia.
    i would like to do a reset .
    can recommend me what soil to get and can i put in my fissiden and pellia to cycle first with co2 and light ?
    what else do i have to purchase eg: bt9

    Maybe reading thru the above might help you consider the type of soil.

    Yes you can put you plants but I won't introduce co2 until it is cycle. Because it will allow me to see and know the actual parameter of the soil buffering ability.

    Bt9 is for bb culturing water treatment there is guide on green chapter but of cause it is guide with the produce from greenchapter.

    I personally only have anti-chlorine and and anti- chlomine I uses shizhen and bt-9 only.

    This is always a nightmare for shrimp hobbyist...a spare or additional running tank will always an advantage.

    For my recommendation will still be on ADA side...the New ADA will need a longer cycle due to the high ammonia. But with your existing media...the bb should be able to do a good and fast job for you. So never leave your canister dry during the transit...always kept with your current tank water but not too long otherwise bb might slowly died off too.
