i have been plague with bad hair algae on my fissiden which i believe most of us experienced.

i did something stupid.. i took the mesh out, dose it with liquid co2 & manually use a toothbrush to gently brush to remove..

then something happened!!! is my fissiden dead?! or regenerating?? algae looks like its cleared, but my fissiden looks 'chao tar' (burnt)

    can they still be saved??

look very badly burn, I'm afraid you might have to throw it away. You can try to keep it and see whether it will recover or not but I doubt it

oh shit... means i dose too much liquid co2 to it? the edges are starting to get back some greens after 1 day... but the main body of the mesh are still brownish...

that a good sign, but still you might need to re-tie once all the tip grow new green frown. I do not think the one that already brown will turn back to green.

i see.. the meaning the brown portion is already dead right? i will monitor it for awhile to see if it will grow back..

Actually because I used that as a sample to try dosing liquid co2.. The rest just brushing.. Now currently some leaves are turning slight green, maybe moss has a self regenerating capability? I will try and monitor.. If it can work, maybe people can try that..
