    hi blaze88,

I am prefer the 2nd one too the more i look at it. The reason why i intend to add more driftwood on the right is to fill up the space, because i don't intend to have a big "field" or space on the right. Will be buying some dragon stones to blend the driftwoods into the substrate.

Just a question, is Dwarf Sag or Echinodorus tenellus a better choice for a foreground plant in a low tech tank? Anyone has experience on these?

    Re: Newbie seeking advises

Never tried Dwarf Sag but I have tried Echinodorus tenellus, they grow very fast and spread around the tank quickly too, I used them as mid ground plants due to the height of the plant (10cm approx) but the began to invade my foreground and back ground aswell. So i guess you would have to plant your other plants densely to prevent their invasion. I got tired of them covering/invading my foreground so rapidly that i removed them completely. (I had HC in the fore ground)

Currently replanting HC into my foreground as well, slow growth but its alive =D

    Thanks for the reply!

Is there anyway to keep the growth low, 10cm does seem too tall to be a for a foreground plant.
Will Dwarf Sag be a better choice for a low tech tank since it requires Low-High light compared to Echinodorus tenellus which needs Med to High lights?

    @Goththug,

A slight reminder if you haven't read your Eden501 manual. The filter has to be on the same level as the base of the 2 ft tank or higher, or the strain on the pump head will be too much for it to handle.

    hi Stormhawk,

i won't be getting the Eden501, most likely will be getting the Ehiem 2213.
    Thanks for the advise anyway.

good choice, in my opinion Eden501 is to small for 60x30x36cm tank.

    Hi all,

I have finally set up my tank!

    Attachment 20509

Please comment and let me know what are the things that i can improve on!
Please ignore the small patch of zipper moss on the left, they are from my old tank and is there for the time being only.
Thanks to the bros who have helped answered my questions and got me started on this tank.

    Cheers!

    Thanks bro Blaze88!

    Faunas inside are currently:

    10 Cardinal Tetra
    5 Boraras brigittae
    4 Boraras urophthalmoides
    3 Galaxy rasboras
    3 Otos

The Cardinal Tetras and Borars are very shy and always hide among the plants, is this normal? I hope to see them school in the open more frequently. And also, am i over stocking for my tank?

My water's GH currently very soft < 3. Is it something that i need to worry about? If it is, how should i go about raising the GH?

    Thanks!!
