I'm using some Coarse black filter media

the wordings are all in some chinese language , and i am now really wondering if some form of Activated carbon is actually in it (!)

should i be on the safe side and purchase some "Decent" coarse filter material ?

Any chance that Nature aquarium sells Biohome ? cos its been recommended to me quite strongly by quite anumber of guys

The Ehiem one is definitely supposed to act like activated carbon. I don't know about other brands. I'd play safe...

Yes, NA does sell Biohome. You can always call them and ask before dropping in. The number is in the LFS list on the topmost menu bar.

and i intend to rearrange my filter mediums abit after i return from NA

First tray would be Ceramic rings on the bottom and followed by this coarse filter media with a handful of coral chips to garnish it

second try sticks with a layer of fine wool filter and biohome layered on it

third layer will stay with just filter wool

or should i switch layers 2 and 3 ?? []

the layer of filter media just before returning to tank should be fine filter wool. this polishes your tank water to keep clear and floating particle free.
