I found out that it would fit so I went ahead and got it on fri..
Set it up and connected it, everything ran smoothly, BUT after letting it run overnight the motor started vibrating loudly the next morning so I took it apart to see what was going on..apparently the impeller keeps knocking against the sides while running. I compared this to an old (but silent) ocean free HOB motor that I had in the storeroom and found out that the OF one does not rattle or knock at all compared to the atman one.
I made a trip back down to polyart and the boss was very kind and changed a new motor for me...I plugged the new motor in and it ran quietly..
That was Saturday, didn't notice any noise on Sunday, but I checked again this morning and the noise was noticeably LOUDER again
Can anyone who has experience with this filter tell me whether this is a defect? I noticed that the impeller is different from other kinds where the blades can be detached from the magnet, could this be causing the impeller to vibrate compared to the impellers that are stuck solid to the magnet? Could I change the impeller with one from another brand but a similar size?
Thanks!
