I bought 5 assassin snail weeks ago and they managed to kill all the malayan trumpet snail in the tank. However it seems that assassin snail don't feed on the ramshorn snail (those really tny flat snail about 3-4mm).

I'm having a sakura shrimp tank and this unsightly ramshorn snail is everywhere. I tried to use the air tube to manually suck them out but it seems their population never decrease.

Pls help! Any other way to kill them beside using chemical?

    Thanks.

Re: Assassin snail vs Ramshorn Snail (common pond snail)

Hi, from my experience, my assassin snails manage to clear out both my trumpet and ramshorn snails, i saw a few times where the assassin snails ate the ramshorn leaving a empty shell behind, perhaps it takes a longer time since the annihilation of my ramshorn snails were slower. Either that or its because the ramshorn breed faster.

All the best, just give it some time (squishing those that comes to the top helps too) and you may even see baby assassin snails around =P
