What grade do u intent to keep guess the temp is a problem best range from 24 to 26 degree. The other thing u need to test is ammonia ph best from 6.2 to 6.8

i intend to have SSS grade CRS.. will go LFS again to get the tester for ammonia.
is there a need to get nitrate test oso?
IMHO, just get nitrite and nitrate kit. Once there's no more nitrite in the water, ammonia should be zero as well as that means your tank is cycled.
How did you test your KH & GH? I find it strange that your KH can be higher than GH...
how about raising your gH slightly? about 4-6?
and yes your kH is a little strange.
Hi,
How to raise my GH?
Anyway i am using liquid tester.
The manual instructions was in other language instead of english.
So i guess is determine by number of drop of the tester.
Am i right?
Hi All,
Updated on my tank.
currently,
PH 6.5
KH 2-3
GH 2(still trying to raise it)
25degree on temp
12.5mg/l on nitrate
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
Any advise.
you can try Mosura mineral plus to raise your gH slightly, but do not overdose!
Dont scare him. Mineral plus, i have overdosed alot in the beggining of using it because i didnt understand the instructions. Im an instructions idiot. But when i checked the GH, not much difference. And by overdose, i mean, i overdose by alot. I used the amt for entire tank when doing WC.
if you overdosed, just do WC.
hehe, not scaring him, i managed to raise my gH to 16 when i overdosed. took quite awhile to reduce it with 20-30% WC..
Hi all,
I already got my water ready for them =)
Update:
GH 6
KH 3
nitrate 12.5mg/l
nitrite 0
ammonia 0
PH 6.5
Temperate 24.3(+/-)
Cheers!
for your information, getting ready the water parameter good for them is one thing, maintaining the water parameter for them is another thing. just don't stress the shrimps too must with water changes unless numbers of death happens at the same time.

From my little experiments, each cap of mineral plus in 100L tank will raise GH by about 0.5.
I would beg to differ. Water change can also be a way to maintain good water parameters.
Even if we can keep the usual parameters stable, there're alot of other things (eg. TDS, trace minerals) that we seldom measure.
TDS could get really high with all those fancy supplements we're dumping into our tanks![]()
Yo, brother Navanod.
yes, i agree with you. But that also have to depends on which kind of water (distilled / aged tap water ) they use to water change.
Sometime beginners ( i was once beginner ) will tends to forget the water parameter is connected, you increase/decrease 1 and the others will change. I remember i once ( unknowingly ) over dose mineral plus in to my old 3 feet tank and cause quite a numbers of casualties but i put the blame on my pH swings.
So, too all new shrimp keepers, take note not to overdose. Pain in heart and pain in the pocket.

Hi eviltrain,
How long should i measure the water parameter?
Once a week or?
once every two weeks is nice enough.
