Any ways to clear it? i washed the tank before usage. I have ADA II soil in it. I have currently a internal filter with hard and soft sponge inside and a small HOF stuffed with ceremic rings.

Might be bacteria bloom, if yours is a relatively new tank. Or some of your more active fishes kicking up soil.

Just need to leave and allow the tank to settle. It will be crystal clear in a month. More or less your tank is stable. Add fishes slowly. Tank is cycled once your fish start living and doing well.. by means of doing well is not dying. That is when the whole nitrogen cycle goes underway.

    Re: Dusty looking water

i replaced the lapis to ADA Amazonia II on my 100l tank on 10Jul. The water was crystal clear after 2 days. However, the water turned dusty after the fifth weeks, i notice the soil on the top are breaking up i now facing the same issue with you. And i strongly think it is due to the soil. Why so? because when i remove the white filter wool to check, they are dirty for 2 weeks of filtration!! its a Ehiem 2215 on a shrimp only thank!!! the tank is fully cycled.

    things that i have tried,

    - water change 20% weekly. (even tried 80% twice, the dust came back within 2 hours!)
    - pointing outflow upwards.
    - Reduce flow.

Humm.....contemplating to change to GEX Plant and Shrimp, or some other that crumbles less easily.

i reckon another option is to cover the floor with loads of plants so that the dust wont be blown off.

erm, at any rate, the bacterial bloom is a bloom of good bacteria, not bad. Let it settle naturally, don't rush it. You don't want to be killing all your good bacteria do you?

Agree. Slightest distubence on the ADA kicks up loads of dust .
