What are some good inverts for clean up of algae, left over food and detritus?

I have a 160L community tank with cory cats, cherry barbs, guppies and harlequin rasboras. I'm considering otos to help with the algae and maybe a bristlenose pleco some time soon.

Most importantly, if I were to get yamato shrimp or nerite snails, I don't want them to reproduce too fast or harm my existing fishes.

I have a simple 1 feet tank with about 80 sakuras.

Tried Yamato shrimp and otos. It seems that they eat up left over food and also fights with my Sakuras over newly fed food. All seem ok except that the green (hard to scrape) algae on the way still continue to grow with or with them.

Just my experience with Yamato and otos....

For Yamato & Nerite, you will not be getting their babies at all in freshwater.
Yamato lavae and Nerite eggs need salt water.

You just need to buy new one when they died or breed them in a seperate tank.

I read somewhere that yamato shrimp may attack bottom dwelling fish like cory cats when they are sleeping at night. Any truth in that?
