Recently, went to sim lim and bought the external sensor(Fox) to replace the built-in sensor. I'm using a 150A. After installing and everything's running, was wondering how accurate is the sensor? (i placed the probe at the inlet of the filter) LCD on the chiller was showing eg. 25.6 but the digital thermometer i placed inside the tank was showing eg. 27.5 Anyone can shed some light on it?

i know the digital thermometer has a +- of 1 degrees, but this is way off?

    Re: External Temperature Sensor

I'm not sure for Hailea but for Resun there is a function to compensate it. The exact temperature not really matter as long as it has same or similar rate of increase or decrease.

    Re: External Temperature Sensor

you can do that for Hailea too. Just press the up and down button together for about 3 -5 sec for the compensation screen where you can increase or decrease the temperature reading

Yes i know the 150a can be calibrated. But my point is HOW accurate is the aftermarket sensor.

    Re: External Temperature Sensor

Different sensor have different resistance value. For example you original sensor at 25 degree have 1K ohm resistance and your new sensor at same temperature may have 1.2K ohm. Thus it will display different temp although it measure same source. Which one more accurate? Well... both may have the same accuracy, it is just your chiller display is factory calibrated to your original sensor.

You should more concern on the rate of change rather than what displayed on the panel. what I mean is if digital thermometer show 27 and chiller display show 25 degree. Then if the digital thermometer show 25 degree then you chiller display should show 23 degree (2 degree different).

    Re: External Temperature Sensor

Was abit blur when i read it. but i do understand it. maybe i should just get a longer wire and tap it to the original sensor. i did some minor modifications to the chiller. added another extra fan infront of the radiator. now more hot air can be exhausted.

    Re: External Temperature Sensor

yes you can take out the original sensor and extend the wire. Just make sure you put somthing to replace the sensor, otherwise water will gusting out from there.

    Re: External Temperature Sensor

I measured before but can't remember. I just remember that it was initially frequent kick in/out say every 5 minutes interval. After change is about 20-30 min ON, 1 to 2 hour OFF. Can't remember the exact

Ok. Guess my room is quite warm. So the best kick out time is still around an hour.
