Assuming your 3ft is 90x45x45cm and your 2ft sump is 60x30x30cm, then my guess is yes probably can.

There is some calculator on earlier post on this thread, try it, it help you size up your chiller.

Re: Chiller and canister filter for 3 ft tank

i suggest you get one size up in your chiller for more cooling capacity. In addition, it also caters for flexibility to upgrade. Personally, I consider Teco and Artica before I decided on Teco. The disadvantage according to what Robert mention is the higher power consumption.

The reason being like what some brothers mention here, the flowrate required for Artica is much higher. Teco require a lower flowrate according to specs and it comes with on/off valve.

Hope not too late to reply here yet. Currently, I am using a Artica 1/10hp chiller with a Eheim 2026 running on a 3ft tank. It seems to work well as I have been using it for more than a year. Temperature is set at 26C

2026 flowrate is sufficient? Will chiller kick in very often?

Re: Chiller and canister filter for 3 ft tank

Arctica chiller will not have the problem of chiller "kicking in" too often, that is resulted from slower flowrate.
I am using a 2028 to power my 1/5 HP Arctica; no problem at all, works like a dream.

It has to do with the position of the temperature sensor within the chiller.

By the way I used to have 2026 powering the same arctica chiller, also never had any problem.

I think the temperature sensor for Artica chillier is located differently.
