    Assuming the tank to be 5'x2'x2' that's about 1.5 Watts per US gallon of water. Only enough for a low light tank.

    Hi guys,

    My tanks is a 5x2x2feet,but the hood can only put in 1 light casing. so max i can only have 220watt of light.Any other way i can have more light?

    1. Remove the hood and use light stands instead. It'll be cooler too.
    2. Use metal halide lamps instead. You'll still need to remove the hood, or at least the covers.
    3. What tubes are in the light set? If they are normal flourescents, you might to convert them to PLs instead. You can fit more PLs in, so you should get more light... I have a feeling you're using 4x55W PL now?

    I intend to get a 55watts x 4.Do you think I can fix the light's stand at the 2 end of the hood so that the light is resting on top of the hood.[:]
